About Meera

What kind of experience and education does a therapist like Meera have?

Meera's undergraduate and graduate degrees were in social work, which taught issues related to mental health, substance use, structural oppression, systemic violence. She then undertook substantial training in narrative therapy which provided the tools to ask questions to better understand what her clients were experiencing. Meera also ran two counselling programs and provided substantial clinical supervision to practicum counsellors and interns. Her license as a registered social worker with the BC College of Social Workers ensures she is accountable to their ethics and standards of practice. Meera receives her own clinical supervision in the form of a Solidarity Group / Community of Practice facilitated by Vikki Reynolds, and has joined the team at Narrative Initiatives San Diego and their monthly professional development group. She seeks out consultation and supervision individually from members of both these groups as needed.
